Extraordinary times can produce extraordinary innovation. That’s what’s been happening in the animal-welfare world. In July, Paws For Thought focused on how the pandemic has changed animal sheltering for the better. Realizing shelters needed to evacuate their pets in March, their communities stepped up and fostered the pets in their homes and continue to do so today.
Well, one extraordinary idea deserves another. Human Animal Support Services is a new animal-welfare organization aiming to turn animal sheltering upside down by providing support services to people and their pets before their pets enter animal shelters.
